The One-Word Resolution Challenge

Mine is:

Stretch.

Doesn’t have to be a verb, or even English. The only rule is — one word.

  1. And now a little explication: I started with my word in the most literal sense. I need to stretch more because my hamstrings are way too tight. But then I realize this word works for me across the board.

  2. Sparkle.

Obnoxious, I know, but it’s been code for ”being the best Kimikims I can be!” for years now.

I love start overs, fresh starts and redos. New Years Eve is my favorite holiday next to Fourth of July. Fourth of July is hard to beat . You show up, eat a hot dog, look up in the sky, watch pretty stuff and go home.

  3. Patience

It’s very close to “tolerance” but there’s enough of a slight difference. And I need it for myself – my frustrations with my increasing inabilities and my real and perceived short-comings and for my dealings with others.

  4. This is so cool, to come home to all these responses. (I threw the entry up, then headed out to Sweeney Todd. Which I loved, although I think it must help to be familiar with the musical, as part of what makes it interesting is watching how Burton has reworked it for film.)

  5. Breathe

I wanted to love Sweeney Todd- I love Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman. However, I have a bad response to blood-even fake blood. I will buy the CD. I did love Juno.

  6. Challenge

as in to challenge myself to make changes in my life to achieve goals as well as to challenge the way I think about people and things.

Thanks for the challenge Laura (no pun intended!) and Happy New Year.

  7. Kindness

    Un 2008 Felice e Pacifico
    Un 2008 Heureux et Paisible
    Glückliches und Ruhiges 2008

  8. Breathe.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it? As someone with asthma and scars from pulmonary blood clots, I can tell you, it isn’t. But it goes beyond that; deep breathing is an integral part of meditation, which can lead to better blood flow. Better blood flow = happier brain = better writer (hopefully).

  9. If I may. Gina? This is from Tom Stoppard. the first time i read it I just about stopped breathing at how amazing it was, what it said to me.

“Happiness is equilibrium. Shift your weight.”
