LIFE SENTENCES has a Facebook page

I’ve created a Life Sentences “group” on Facebook, which means anyone who joins can post photos, links, video, start discussions, etc. Go to www.facebook.com and search for Life Sentences and it should pop up.

Twelve days out from publication date. (And only five from the paperback edition of Another Thing to Fall.) Things will definitely be busier here and there.

  1. Cool!
Are you coming to Denver on this trip? The Beany tour offer is always open. Murder By The Book is about three blocks away from the Malone/Weber house, not too far from The U and practically across the street from what could well have been The Pantages Theatre.

  2. Well, that URL works like a charm! At the risk of judging a book by its cover – gotta say that the image of the book Life Sentences is compelling.

Hardly Knew Her has a genuinely lovely cover – easily my favorite.

I confess that I have bought books based in large part on how they look. ‘Course, the predicate is that the book is by an author that I have come to trust….for example, I snapped up a book called Lincoln as Commander in Chief by James McPherson, based on the inside cover, where they placed the panoramic photo of Lincoln looking down upon General McLellan at Sharpsburg Maryland, after the battle of Antietam; the insolent little general has one leg saucily thrown forward, as he looks up at the boss.

As soon as I saw that, the combination of trusted author and alluring imagery compelled both sides of my brain to make a bee-line to the cash register!

Just as you cannot go wrong with McPherson, I have learned that you cannot go wrong with Lippman, so that these oddly beautiful book covers of hers are an ingenious and compelling bit of marketing!

  3. Okay, trying not to be dense here, but I found 3 pages about the book, one tied to Northeastern, one to the Pratt and one to the Boomarks festival. Is it one of these?

My favorite close but no cigar find was:
Promote Life Sentences for first-time pedophiles.
For a second there I thought that the book was being sold, very democratically, to anyone! [wink]
