And the winner is . . .

Michele Lea Rosenberg.

However, I hope to give away more free books before the August publication date of I’D KNOW YOU ANYWHERE so keep watching this space.

And thank you everyone for providing such delightful mini essays. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m having pizza for dinner.

  1. Congratulations Michele! I’d ask LL to inscribe the book with a pen dipped in pizza sauce.

As for supper – no pizza for us tonight

We have an over-abundance of hamurgers and brats left from yesterday (dad cooking on Mother’s Day means meat over fire on the back porch); plus fresh sliced strawberries, angel food cake, and whippy cream.

But more pizza is on the near-horizon

  2. I loved Daine’s post about the NSFW pets stories on the New Contest thread, and Nicole’s Buddhist kitty! Good stuff all around.

At the very far end of what I think I can remember, we had a canary in the mid-1960′s, named Fidel. I vaguely recall that he occasionally escaped his cage, and flew and flapped and fluttered all around the living room.

It only just now strikes me that his name may have been a political commentary…!
